What's it all about?

If you want to go the extra mile and prepare yourself for the next step in life after school, don't miss New Zealand Business Week (NZBW). During Business Week, you will hear from a range of speakers telling their story of how they have got to where they are. The trails, tribulatoins, wins and loses, Visit OBO Hockey, WildBase and RNZAF - Ohakea and meet other students from around NZ.

NZBW provides an environment that encourages and fosters brave thinking. You'll look at new business models, meet business people, be inspired and challenged. Not to mention, you'll be surrounded by like-minded friends from all over New Zealand. 

What will it be like?

You will be immersed in a fun and challenging environment. You'll gain an understanding of the realities of how many of the speakers started their own business or career and you'll meet other students and business people. 

You'll take part in workshops, team activities and get advice from real business people. Not only will you develop new fantastic new skills and relationships, it looks great on your CV. 

We will teach you interview techniques, show you how to work with others and prepare you for the next step from school.

HOW DOES IT WORK?

The programme includes identifying personal goals, inspirational speakers, workshops, a team challenge, business coaches and fun activities. 

It is structured over five intensive days. Speakers come to site to speak to the group, we visit businesses and facilities, some you can not ‘just’ visit.

You'll be tasked with capturing your day and learning moments via instagram using the hashtag #bravethinkers. This is not only a fun way to interact with your team mates, but also creates a visual record to include in your CV.

Completing the week you will have tools to confidently attend an interview, understand different personality types, have an understanding of financial literacy and have met a range of connections that may be life-long.

WHAT's in it for me?

You will also take away a certificate, your portfolio and the instagram memories you created and shared using the #bravethinkers hashtag. 

The Brave Thinkers is able to be used a part of Duke of Edinburgh - Gold Residential project. At the end of the course you submit the course details and the Project Manager completed the attendance section.
